Step-by-step instructions

Stand upright and hold a barbell with both hands at roughly shoulder-width apart, palms facing your body.

Bend your knees slightly and lower your upper body so the bar is below your waist.

Use your hips and legs to explosively propel the bar upwards to chest level, keeping it as close to the body as possible.

At the top of the movement, rise onto your toes and shrug your shoulders, pulling the bar as high as possible.

Lower the bar in a controlled fashion back to the starting position and repeat for the programmed number of reps.
